As a result of a creative competition, 8 photographers will be selected for an exclusive production practicum featuring in-depth review and feedback sessions.
The selected participants will experience:
- A live four-hour masterclass with hands-on demonstrations of key lighting setups.
- An individual two-hour shoot with a professional model to physically reconstruct and refine the exact lighting setups you modeled during the online module, with hands-on guidance.
- Creating a cohesive visual series during a professional editorial shoot, working alongside a full hosq & Rien-a-porter creative crew (including models, a stylist, MUA, and set designer).

Participation in the offline stage is optional and highly selective. It is based on your engagement, completion of assignments, and progress during the online core program. This stage is designed for those who need hands-on studio experience.

Participants who successfully complete the course can apply for a three-day offline shooting stage. Participation is limited and based on engagement, assignments, and portfolio.
The shooting stage includes:
All commercial rights to the final images belong to the production team. Selected images may be used for portfolio purposes only, using the final edited versions provided by the team.
- Reverse-engineer any visual. Analyze a reference and reconstruct its lighting: number of sources, their properties, and spatial setup.
- Work with 3D pre-production. Use Set.a.light 3D to test and refine lighting before a shoot, reducing costs and ensuring accurate results for both physical and digital workflows.
- Build light systematically. Construct setups step by step with predictable outcomes, instead of relying on intuition or chance.
- Troubleshoot with confidence. Identify and fix lighting issues in real time without breaking the entire setup.
- Communicate your vision. Translate ideas into clear technical decisions, whether working with a crew or within digital tools.
- Develop a visual language. Move beyond fixed setups and build a flexible system of lighting approaches adapted to your own style.

- Experience working within a real team alongside the hosq and Rien-a-porter production team.
- Hands-on guidance and direct feedback from the curator while working with studio lighting.
All commercial rights to the final images belong to the production team. Selected images may be used for portfolio purposes only, using the final edited versions provided by the team.
We will be using Set.a.light 3D for practical assignments.
A software license is not included in the course fee. However, the official 15-day free trial perfectly covers the entire duration of the online module (please wait to activate it until the course begins) or you can use your own paid license.
